So... I mentioned that I started a knitting class.
I finished my first project...
But it kind of makes me feel like this...
Good thing I need a tea cozy, eh?!!
WHERE EVERY DAY IS THE SAME...

I'm impressed with your Photoshop skills! Knitting skills, well ...
LOL
Still VERY impressive .... bet it would look adorable on the Rooster.
Geez J, that is so great. My first attempt at knitting resulting in a blanket...big enough for a Smurf! Maybe I will try again.
Cute! It is great way to pass the time in the car...as long as your husband isn't being a big wuss and worried that he could take a needle to the eye in the event of an accident...
Oh, The Craftiness!
Very nice, babe.
I would never eat soup out of a knitted bowl. I don't know what you were thinking.
Am I the only one humming a Beastie Boys tune right now?
I thinnk it's cute and you should totally wear it!
Na Na Na gonna have a good time. Na Na NA gonna have a good time. Hey Hey Hey.
I like it! Make me one?
Well, I think it looks great. And also I can almost kinda promise that getting the details just right gets easier every time.
Those look good enough to sell.

Congratulations! Very impressive, particularly for your first project.
FYI, if the yarn is wool you can shrink the hat by soaking in alternately in hot, then cold water until it's closer to the size you want.
If the yarn is acrylic...it does make a fine tea cozy.
Hey, hey, hey...it's FAT JOY!
Love it. I love that color, too.
Seriously you have me now missing Fat Albert. I loved that show!
Hey, hey, hey! Nice hat/cozy! Did you do the scarf too? I wish I could knit or crochet but my tension messes it up - my granny squares turn into granny trapizoids.
That's okay...sometimes I feel like the guy in the front with the buck teeth and big eyes...but only on days when I am constipated...which is most days.
I love, LOVE the pictures! Congrats on knitting!
BTW, that first picture is sassy...loving it!
Very cool! All I've mastered are granny squares.. and I use the term "mastered" lightly.
Looks like it came out perfect!
I have always wanted to try to knit. I think I am to antsy and couldn't sit long enough to finish one row.
girl, you got it going on. your stitching is so consistent. i'm a knitting moron.
I think it's awesome!
Easier than soaking the hat is to grow a bigger head.
I'll help.
You are beautiful, powerful and smart. And your hair looks great today. And, um, looks like you showered too.
I think it's excellent - I've been knitting for years and I still get end results like that.
Just tell other knitters you had a "gauge problem" - makes you sound like you know what you're doing, and other knitters will commiserate.
I always wondered what a tea cozy looked like.
Hey, hey, HEY, woman -- where do you get the time??
But I love the hat - the colour, the pompom (is that what the kids are calling those these days?). And your entourage looks cool, can I hang with you?
its soooo lovely.
Very cute! And the color! Great job!
Oh Crafty one, you are so cute.
ROTFL! we were just talking about dumb donald over at drowsey monkey's the other day. drowsey mistook the stocking cap or balaclava or whatever for bangs...and none of us were really sure WHAT it was, so we researched for the truth. ha!
anyhoo, you do NOT look that goofy (dumb? LOL)! hehe! very nice job, i must say. really cute!!!
A bit large, but it looks *good*!!!
Heidi
Heh, heh... LOVE it! I think it looks equally cool both on your head AND the teapot...
I can't knit anything that isn't flat or square... actually I can't knit anything that doesn't come out as a scarf....
Darling! I love the red. As a crochet girl, I've often thought of trying knitting myself...
I decided to try that knitting thing myself. My daughter saw some yarn in the craft store she liked and it occurred to me, "Hey, I can screw up on her scarf and then do better on mine."
And advice?
~Jef
Hilarious! I was just referencing the Fat Albert gang the other day to my husband. My son tends to look like that too. Everything too big and his hat over his eyes.
Thanks for the smile.
Your tea pot looks very dapper.
Everybody's got to start somewhere.
Seriously. You are the QUEEN of the Photoshop!
Oh, that made me giggle. I do love the hat though. I would wear it proudly. Nice work!
I love the hat. Did you knit it with needles or on a loom?
Very impressive. I never got past the scarf stage...
how the heck do you have time to knit, anyway?!?!
That's a great first knitting project. Mine was a potholder with big holes in it and no bottom, since I got bored and quit.
just paste some googly eyes on it and wear it to your meetings.
you can snooze and everyone will think you're wide awake. with really wobbly eyes.
I dunno, I think it's kinda cute.
You did great, especially for your first attempt!
Looks pretty good to me... either as a tea cozy or as a head cozy. Either way.
I just started re-teaching myself how to knit; I haven't committed to a project yet, since I have two hats, a pillow slipcover, and a scarf on crochet hooks waiting for me. But I will. I will, honest!
No it does not look like a Fat Albert hat, it's super cute.
Hey! You did pretty good!
Hey, hey, hey!
Well, it is still beautiful. I am starting my first knitting class on Saturday!
it looks great!
You've got mad skillz, woman! AND, you won't freeze your head off. :)
Great job!
That's a fine hat.
Trouble is, next time I see you I'm gonna have the Fat Albert song in my head.
Because it will be on continuous loop in my head from now until God knows when.
P
Look at you! :)
A knitting prodigy..who knew?
And your Granny helped you with every stitch. Even though you're not speaking to her. Good Granny's are like that.
I would love to learn to knit. But I have the patience of a gnat and I'd probably get all stabby and hurt someone with the needles.
Hey hey hey! The Fat Albert Kids! You-bah are-bah so-bah funny!
HEY HEY HEY!
Fabulous job with the hat and the photoshop!
hahahahahaha. Mushmouth!
Woman, your photoshopping skilz rock.
hey hey hey.
I like it, don't relegate it to the tea pot. As far as I'm concerned, if it's hand-knit and doesn't have a hole then it is brilliant.
HEY! HEY! HEY!! IT'S GORGEOUS JESS, COMIN' OUR WAY!!
I think it looks good. Do you really need that tho, considering where you live?
Are you hooked? (Seriously, no pun intended.) Because after my first knitting class I swore I'd hate it because it sucked and it was confusing and it was very stupid. And then I loved it and now I cannot quit. The end.
I've got me a thing for pom poms on hats. Life doesn't get much better than a little fuzzy ball on the end of a hat, now does it?
G'day from Australia,
I came here from Camikaos. Hmmmm, I thought it looked rather fetching on you, but now I reckon it suits its new role to a T - or should that be tea?!!!!
Hey, hey, heeeyyyyy
Sorry, YouTube calls
:-)
Remember your first bowl from pottery class? No offense to your potter skills but it seems you are a much better first-time knitter. You have some skills, J. It's a cute combo, so fashionable too. P.S. Guess who I am going to see this weekend? Lisa and Chris, hooray! We will be in NY for a week. Miss you.
Oh the many talents!
You did a beautiful job! I can't figure out how to knit the correct size hat either. As soon as we move to a real place, I'm taking a knitting class. I' sick of scarves and am afraid to try a pattern. Maybe K can wear it?
I love the red. I think it's a smart looking hat. Perhaps your hubby could wear it? And please show a picture when he does...
BRAVO!!! It's beautiful and looks exactly like my first knitting project LOL except I managed to avoid the pom-pom, but seeing yours I think I need to find it and add one :)
*gaffaw*
Oh how did that crack me up!
Now I am going to be saying 'Hey Hey Heyyyyy' ALL day!!!!
Nice! I am impressed for a first hat.
hey hey hey!
but may I suggest you wear it ABOVE the eyebrows. ;) that might help.
Geesh! I couldn't even cast on when I tried to knit! I'm totally impressed.
The color's great...Look I can't say anything. I have no domestic knitting or sewing skills. Period. So, I'm impressed, even if it isn't perfect in YOUR eyes.
Oh, that is a FABULOUS hat! If I were you, I would wear it with pride.
I am so effin proud of you!!!
OK, but what's your Cosby Kid name?
I watched Fat Albert religiously when I was a kid.
I am completely impressed that you knit a hat!
After seeing this and checking out Shutter Sisters, I want to be a knitting photographer who sells her wares on Etsy.
Craftiness is oozing from my pores right now.
Hey hey hey!
In Canada, hats like that are very practical. Don't mock :-)
You're like Weird Harold's whiter, girlier cousin.
It's cute. It's way more than I've ever accomplished with knitting. I'm currently working on a scarf that has reached Dr. Who proportions because I can't remember how to cast off.
When do you find time to knit?? :) I love it.. and the photoshop was just the right touch!!
Well doncayoe, you!
Where are the eye holes?
Love it! Hope you keep knitting!!
Way hot.
"Hey Hey Hey!"
You got mad knitting skills.
I knit like you knit. In fact, I am presently re-knitting that very same hat, in black, sans pompom, in attempt to make it fit my husband.
Very nice.
I was once able to cast on.
Yep, that's about it.
When I saw you in the gang, the music immediately started up in my head.
{Gawnk dit dit gawnk dit dit ....|
Hey, Hey, Hey, what a great hat you made!
LOL!! I LOVE the pics!! Missed You!!
I love how you can always make me laugh! Cute post!
Kudos on the handy work.
